My good friend Bryan Krahn and I are going to be drumming up a little sumthin, sumthin in the coming months. It’ll be a training program for dads (and moms) that’ll take into account that:
1) Your time is limited.
2) You’re not 25 anymore.
3) You still want to be the most diesel looking parent at your kid’s daycare/school.
Before he and I dive into the nitty gritty, though, we’re interested in what YOU want to see from this sort of program. If you have a few minutes to kill can you maybe take some time to fill out THIS form?
It’ll only take the amount of time it takes to warm-up your kid’s Hot Pocket and it’ll help us tremendously.
Thanks!

Not sure what irritates me more:
1. Client not showing up at 8:30 am (when they were the only one scheduled and I came in early just for them).
95% of lifters – at some point or another – will have a cranky shoulder to work around. This article provides some valuable insights on how to re-introduce pressing when your shoulder hates you.
I have confirmed that I’ll be coming to England this September to do not one, but TWO separate workshops.
I’ll be doing my 1-day Coaching Competency Workshop at Gudlift Gym in Manchester on Sunday, 9/12 – click HERE for itinerary and to register.
The following weekend (9/18) I will be in London alongside Luke Worthington to put on our 2-day Strategic Strength Workshop (host location is still being figured out)
It feels extraordinary to finally be putting events INTO my calendar rather than taking them off.
I hope to see you there!
SIDE NOTE: I’ve tossed Charleston, SC out there, as well as Philadelphia, PA (the latter would likely be a Strong Body Strong Mind Workshop with my wife, Dr. Lisa Lewis).
I’m hoping I can pull them off, but am also open to other options as well – Milwaukee, Memphis, Mordor, whatever.
If you’re interested in possibly hosting me for a day or two (or know of a gym who’d be a good fit), please reach out and let’s chat.

Shut up.
No, really, it’s okay to not say a word during a set of something when coaching your clients/athletes.
Ruling out risk of injury…
Let them marinate in feeling what a wonky rep feels like and what a good one feels like. They’ll figure it out without your 17 cues.
Since I won’t be traveling anytime soon to present, I decided why not bring one of my workshops to YOU? I will be putting on my popular Coaching Competency Workshop this March.
I figured chances would be high many attendees would be fighting off the urge to commit seppuku staring at their computer screen for seven straight hours so made the executive decision to spread things out over three consecutive weekends:
3 Hours on 3/7
2 Hours on 3/14
2 Hours on 3/21
The course has been approved for CEUs via the NSCA and all attendees will receive a recording in case Eastern Standard Time doesn’t bode well for your schedule.
You can now purchase CORE @ Home for whatever you want to pay.
During the first quarantine I started a platform where I’d deliver 20-40 minute workouts that could be performed in everyone’s living room using minimal equipment.
In all I filmed 36 workouts using nothing but bodyweight, bands, and kettlebells and/or dumbbells. With many people still reticent to head back to their regular gyms (not to mention the scarcity of gym equipment out there to purchase) I figured this would be a nice opportunity to help.
Whether you want to spend $1 or $99 (FYI: the latter enters you to win a 5×7 shirtless pic of me), the workouts are ready and available to start.
I am not one to toot my own horn (that often), but I am giddy about this.
I had the opportunity to work with the lovely Rosamund Pike while she was in Boston back in 2019 filming her latest movie, I Care A lot, which was just released on Netflix today.
I love deadlifts and movies.
So, of course, when I had the chance to work with a bonafide movie star, I had her deadlift…;o)
Anyway, I Care A lot has been getting rave reviews, as has her performance as the movie’s main character, Marla Grayson, which has been getting compared to Rosamund’s most iconic character, Amy Dunne, from Gone Girl.
Rosamund is the sweetest person on Earth, but she seems to excel at portraying sinister characters. In fact, Rosamund was just nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in this film.

I am so tired of writers/editors reaching out asking me to contribute to pieces about what I think are the “latest trends or innovations in the health/fitness industry?”
Go to the gym, strain a little bit, make sure nutrition supports your goals, go to bed, be consistent.
I remember when BFR started gaining traction several years ago I had to do all I could to prevent my eyeballs from rolling out of their sockets.
Really? We’re gonna “cut off” circulation to our limbs in order to elicit just a smidgeon more of a pump?
As it happens, yes.
And, too, as it happens, there’s a bevy of other legitimate applications as well. For example (and speaking personally), I used BFR as part of my Achilles rehab.
But I’ll let Mike to do the talking. He does a better job anyway in this extensive article.
I have to go to a wedding this weekend. In Albany, NY.
Can you sense my excitement?
I can think of a thousand and one other things I’d rather do: watch paint dry, talk about my feelings, jump into a shark’s mouth, anything.
I’ve still got some packing to do and other odds and ends to complete today so lets jump into this week’s list.
CHECK THIS STUFF OUT FIRST
1) Complete Shoulder & Hip Blueprint – Orlando
There’s only less than two weeks left to take advantage of the Early Bird rate for Dean Somerset and I’s workshop in Orlando, at Spark Fitness, the weekend of October 21st.
I’ve never been to Orlando. I bet it’s going to be beautiful in October. Yet, there’s no way in hell I’m visiting Disney World.1
HEADS UP: We’ve also added Boston into the mix later this year. Not Burlington Boston or Beverly Boston, two cities that are lovely, albeit not (that) close to Boston.
No, this is IN Boston. In the heart of the city Boston, at AMP Fitness.
Early bird rate is in effect now and if you’re super eager to sign-up you can go HERE.
2) Strong Body-Strong Mind – Toronto
For real this time.
This was supposed to happen this past June, but Lisa and I didn’t have a passport for our little guy (then four months old) when we arrived at the airport and we had to cancel last minute.
Our bad.
We’ve re-scheduled for Saturday, September 23rd at Humber College in Toronto, Ontario. I can tell you – and I’m totally not biased when I say this (but I am) – there’s no other workshop like this in the fitness industry.
Lisa and I saw an underserved component within the industry – namely, mental skills – and we’ve combined our superpowers skill-sets to provide a 1-day curriculum that will help fitness professionals develop better skills to build competency, autonomy, and rapport with their clients, in addition to coaching skills (assessment, program design, exercise technique).
NOTE: the registration process is a little bit tricky and if you get to the point where you feel like you’re going to toss your face into the keyboard, please contact Bradley Corcoran at: [email protected]
Hope to see you there.
3) Elite Fitness & Performance Summit – Chicago
I’ll be in Chicago this September alongside some other phenomenal speakers for the Elite Fitness & Performance Summit. The cast includes:
Nick Tumminello
Mark Fisher (if I have to follow him on stage I’m going to be pissed)
Josh Henkin
Nick Berry
Molly Galbraith
Krista Scott-Dixon
Ryan Ketchum
And many, many more. It’s one of the most action-packed fitness events of the year, so be sure to reserve your seat ASAP. You can go HERE to do so.
Fun Tony factoid: Stumptuous.com (Krista’s site) was one of the first fitness blogs I ever started reading. It’s also where the seeds were planted on this whole idea of infotainment and how I got into writing myself.
She’s an amazing writer and very knowledgable coach. And she swears. She’s good people.
